Harpalus rufipes, also known as the common flat ground beetle, is a species of beetle belonging to the family Carabidae. They are found in Europe and North America and are commonly found in gardens, fields, and woodland areas.

The beetle is small, typically growing to around 1 cm in length, and is reddish-brown with a black head and legs. They are active during the day and night and feed on a variety of small insects, including aphids, caterpillars, and other beetles.
